Job Opportunity: Head of Urban Planning Department

The city of Eckernförde is looking to fill a position within their dynamic and experienced urban planning team as a Head of the Urban Planning Department.

Full-time: 39.0 hours/week; Salary Scale 12 TVöD, permanent

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the Urban Planning Department
• Strategically steer through concepts, plans, and collaborative projects to achieve municipal goals for city development
• Manage development projects of fundamental importance
• Contribute to the establishment and development of zoning plans
• Prepare decision proposals for municipal committees
• Provide expertise to the Planning and Design Advisory Board
• Be available outside of regular working hours (e.g., evening appointments)

Requirements:

• Completed degree in Architecture/Urban Development/Urban Planning/Regional Planning or equivalent qualification
• Quick comprehension, communication skills, creativity, and design competence
• Commitment, structured approach, initiative, and decisiveness
• Proficiency in IT
• Sound knowledge in urban planning and related legal matters
• Very good understanding of construction and planning law
• German language proficiency at C1 level
