- Definethe purchasing strategy for each commodity group, taking intoaccount the strategic guidelines developed by Leica andDanaher.
- Initiatinginnovation projects and analysing commodity category technologytrends, leading global strategic initiatives to secure thelong-term supply of materials, contributing to global Danaherinitiatives in the field of directsourcing.
- Analysingand optimising the supplier base by selecting new suppliers anddeveloping existing ones with a focus on quality, deliveryperformance andcosts.
- Independentnegotiation and agreement of contracts as well as execution ofannual price negotiations and implementation of the necessarysupplycontracts.
- Carryingout a regular supplier evaluation in cooperation with schedulingand quality assurance, including the implementation of materialrelocations / supplierchanges.
- Analysis ofall cost elements of the purchased products/services in order tooptimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) as well as management ofpurchase price differences and savingsprojects.
- Planning,management and evaluation of employees as well as development ofthe team.
- Preparationof reports and preparation of purchasing-relevant data for systemmaintenance according to processspecifications.
- Completedeconomics or technical studies or comparabletraining
- Many years ofprofessional experience in the areas of strategic sourcing andsupplier management, ideally further experience along the supplychain including material planning forproduction
- Internationalleadership experience as well as experience in projectmanagement
- Strongunderstanding of manufacturing/product and logistics of the entiresupply chain as well as expertise in contractmanagement
- Very goodknowledge of SAP R/3 modules MM/PP as well as very good Excelskills

In this responsiblerole, you will be directly responsible for the local purchasingstrategy for Leica's production sites in Mannheim and Wetzlar andwill also be responsible for managing the purchasing strategy atthe production site in Singapore. You will work with your team todevelop reliable suppliers, ensuring the supply of materials whilemeeting the given quality and delivery targets, while reducing thecosts associated with procurement. In this position, you willreport directly to the Vice President GlobalOperations.
