    Job Description

    The primary purpose of this role, Director Sales Walgreens, is to be a strategic partner with our largest Drug customer. The incumbent will be responsible for achieving the objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSMs) for Walgreens (categories) on an annual basis in partnership with: Customer Management resources, Customer & Shopper Solutions resources, and Customer & Shopper Activation resources. This role will lead the account in the US both in terms of current volume and future growth potential, execute strategic business plan for Consumer Health's largest U.S. Drug customer, as well as plan and execute all activities through the management of direct and indirect resources, in order to maximize sales volume and reach profit results.

    The incumbent will:
    •Lead the development of Walgreens Strategic Sales Plans ensuring alignment to National Drug Strategic Sales Plans

    •Lead and direct the Walgreens Team in establishing and achieving customer annual and long term priorities

    •Achieve Bayer volume and KPI objectives through successful sell-in and execution of the retail controllables across Bayer's categories in:
    -Assortment – Promotion – Pricing – Shelving – New Products
    -Integrates new products into customer and/or channel plans
    -Develop account-specific promotion plan

    •Lead team in providing Walgreens monthly forecast including risk and opportunity assessment

    •Guides team in analytical initiatives to ensure fact-based support to sell-in of Bayer initiatives and to drive identification of new opportunities

    •Actively participates in Continuous Business Planning process for the Walgreens Team, including:
    -Ongoing assessment of annual business plans
    -Course correction to current year plan achievement
    -Implications to next year's plan development

    •Evaluates retail controllable best practices to identify opportunities

    •Integrates digital program into customer and/or channel plans

    •Provides trade fund investment assessment in a standardized way and coordinates with HQ Sales Support

    •Monitors/tracks competitive activity and identifies needs/implications

    •Acts as Field Sales liaison to HQ Sales Support for ongoing communication of:
    -Retailer''''s department, category, Bayer brand, customer and/or channel issues
    -Bayer business-building opportunities

    •Lead and participate in key strategic meetings with customers as the primary interface with Walgreens customer executives (such as top-to-tops)

    •Responsible for the recruitment, development, and career pathing for the Walgreens Team

    •Lead direct reports in knowledge, understanding and management of Walgreens Customer Business Center, including Customer Business Managers and in partnership with Customer & Shopper Solutions and Customer & Shopper Activation.

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position:
    •BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience (MBA desired). Plus 12 or more years' experience in sales and/or marketing roles in CPG/OTC companies. This should include 5 or more years' experience building strategic business plans that accomplish the Division's sales volume and profit goals

    •Sound financial management skills in order to assess trade merchandising programs and streamline operational processes

    •Strong people development skills in coaching and motivating direct reports and peers

    •An ability to understand the impact of their decisions to the total Division's business

    •Strong demonstration of competencies in communication, critical thinking, problem solving and financial analysis.

    •Results driven while being able to work well within a team environment (building strong relationships and showing organizational agility)

    •Customer focused work ethic and ability to create win/win situations through advanced negotiation skills.
