Your Responsibilities

The role

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Genomics Scientist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting whole exome and whole genome sequencing datasets. This role requires a deep understanding of genomics, bioinformatics, and variant interpretation.

• Use your scientific, technical, and clinical knowledge to analyze, interpret and report test results for clinical cases subjected to whole exome and whole genome sequencing
• Documentation and quality assurance of HPO documentation and related information (family history, suspected disease, etc.)
• Participate in regular re-evaluation of clinical cases, identify new / novel findings and lead research activities
• Stay updated with the latest scientific literature in the field of genomics and contribute to research and development efforts
• Prepare and present findings in scientific meetings and contribute to peer-reviewed publications
• Assists with establishing and documenting protocols or best practices for common tasks

Your Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Genomics, Human Genetics, molecular biology, computer science or related field
• Minimum of two years' experience as clinical variant scientist or similar position. Experience performing variant interpretation strongly desired
• Proven experience invariant interpretation following ACMG and ClinGen guidelines
• Must be comfortable reading and interpreting scientific literature, and feel confident in using diverse software, tools and platforms
• Knowledge of human mutation databases and genome browsers desired
• Excellent English communication and writing skills required; ideally with Spanish advanced skills
• Strong ability to collaborate with teams of clinicians, research scientists, and external collaborators required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Strong desire to work in a demanding, high-energy, hands-on startup environment
