Responsibility for Construction and Reconstruction of Substations and Switchgears at 50Hertz

When it comes to minimizing power losses in long-distance power transmission, a preferred approach is to maintain an ultra-high voltage of 380 kilovolts. Substations are required wherever there is a voltage change in the transmission network, with approximately 70 currently operated by 50Hertz.

You will be managing the civil and steel construction aspects of the substation projects at 50Hertz. Your expertise, organizational skills, and teamwork will play a crucial role in the efficient preparation, planning, and execution of these projects, significantly contributing to their success. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling the necessary approval procedures and ensuring compliance with safety measures.

Other Aspects of Your Role:

• Prepare technical and economic variant comparisons and decision proposals for construction and maintenance projects, including participation in budget applications.
• Oversee the civil and steel construction part of tenders, serving as a technical partner in procurement decisions.
• Manage the realization of civil and steel construction projects, coordinate service providers, and conduct inspections.
• Account for budget monitoring and reporting.
• Be involved in contract negotiations with customers and distribution system operators from a construction perspective.

Develop your comprehensive understanding of civil engineering, steel construction, and project management in a challenging environment at 50Hertz, collaborating with internal colleagues and external partners.

Your Profile:

• Completed Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business with a focus on construction technology, or similar.
• Driver's license for cars.
• Language: fluency in German (at least C1 level).

Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:

• Experience in preparing, planning, and implementing complex construction projects.
• Knowledge of the economic, technical, and legal framework of the energy industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and iTWO.
