Our task as ZEISS Corporate Research & Technology is to look for new applications, markets, and technologies beyond the horizon of our business units. As our new Senior Innovation Manager Health, you will be responsible for monitoring technological advances in your field and building a close relationship with internal stakeholders and the academic com-munity. Based on your deep understanding of applications and markets, you will evaluate which opportunities and tech-nologies are attractive and initiate and steer activities to pursue those opportunities. In this way, you will play a key role in bringing innovative solutions to fields such as microsurgery and medical technology.

    You will

  • Drive innovation in the fields of microsurgery (neuro/spine, ENT and dental surgery) by identifying and evaluating opportunities in the innovation sweet spot of desirability, feasibility, and viability
  • Use your deep understanding of surgical workflows and related technologies to identify underserved needs in close interaction with surgeons
  • Champion proposals for new projects within the organization
  • Work together with internal stakeholders and technology experts as well as with external cooperation partners to identify new business opportunities
  • Contribute to the success of ZEISS with your extensive application knowledge and a clear understanding of the cus-tomer, e.g. by initiating and steering development projects
  • Extend and maintain a partner network of surgeons in the microsurgical disciplines.
  • Your Profile

  • Deep understanding of surgical workflows and related technologies in the fields of microsurgery (neuro/spine, ENT and dental surgery)
  • Either a university degree in medicine with an affinity for development of medical products or a university degree in medical engineering, data science or economics with an affinity for developing medical products
  • Verifiable experience and success in the management of research and/or development projects, perferrably with in-ternational participation
  • Proven skills in dealing with customers, colleagues and scientific partners as well as efficient and well-structured working methods.
    • A distinct ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, and a very good command of English
  • Willingness to travel internationally as part of the work
  • Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for new technologies as well as fun working in agile, interdisciplinary teams.
