Requirements:

You have a university degree or comparable knowledge or an education as an IT specialist (system integration) with professional experience
- Profound knowledge in the administration of Linux servers is required
- Very good knowledge of the German and English language, both written and spoken, is required
- High competence to work in a team in BioQuant and in the network of bioinformatics cloud sites as well as in communicating with users and project partners is expected

Responsibilities:

Administration of existing OpenStack cloud infrastructure and associated storage systems
- Scientific support for users in the collection and processing of scientific data on central large-scale devices
- Participation in scientific projects
- Conception and implementation of trainings in the area of Cloud and OpenStack
- Participating in cloud meetings and collaborating with other bioinformatics cloud sites
- Further development of the Bioinformatics Cloud at Heidelberg University according to the needs of scientific users

BioQuant is Heidelberg University's interdisciplinary research center for the quantitative analysis of molecular and cellular systems. Research at the BioQuant integrates theoretical modeling approaches, laboratory experiments and technology development. Together with the University Computing Center, BioQuant operates a bioinformatics cloud at Heidelberg University. The cloud is part of a network of scientific bioinformatics cloud sites in Germany.
