We're looking for a Project Manager for Infrastructure Projects in Energy Sector

Are you ready to contribute to the advancement of the energy transition by steering complex approval processes for the construction or renovation of overhead lines or tunnels? In our team, you will take charge of initiating and overseeing new construction or renovation projects after a thorough needs assessment, which always involves a detailed public approval process.

As a Project Manager, your convincing and clear communication skills (both verbal and written), as well as your confidence and decisiveness in process management, will be crucial. You will lead the project team and associated service providers, ensuring all relevant deadlines, facts, costs, and risks are proactively managed, even when facing challenging inquiries, including interactions with the public.

Your Responsibilities in Detail:

• You will be responsible for preparing and conducting approval procedures (including spatial planning and official approval procedures) and managing the comprehensive planning of major projects until completion,
• You will coordinate the preparation of application documents, facilitate application conferences, scoping meetings, and other discussion sessions, and continuously moderate the complex execution of procedures by skillfully involving all participants: colleagues from other business areas, commissioned planning offices, and especially the relevant authorities,
• Your core tasks will include coordinating and ensuring the quality of environmental and technical expert opinions, as well as preparing summary documents of the application documents,
• You will oversee tenders and procurement procedures for environmental planning services, as well as for the necessary additional expert opinions, with a commercial focus,
• Additionally, you will ensure comprehensive documentation of the process and effective knowledge management to sustainably retain the knowledge you build within the company.

Your Profile of Competencies

• A Master's or Diploma degree in a relevant field (e.g. spatial planning, landscape planning, regional planning, legal or administrative sciences, or engineering or natural sciences),
• At least three years of professional experience in approval processes for linear infrastructure projects (e.g. with grid operators, gas pipelines, rail transport, or road construction),
• Knowledge of planning and approval laws, public regulations, and basic knowledge of nature conservation and environmental law,
• Experience in project management (leading project teams, handling project risks), Languages: Very good German skills (at least C1) and good English skills (at least B1),
• Driving license (car) and willingness to travel (on average once a month with up to two overnight stays).

Ideally, you also have:

• Proficiency in MS-Office,
• SAP skills,
• Project management certification (IPMA or PMI).
