    Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Manager (International Tax)with German direct tax background to join the EU direct taxadvisory team.

    The position is open for hiring inMunich, Luxembourg and London.

    This is an exciting opportunity towork with high level of collegiality and independence, supportingAmazon Consumer business, Operations and other business lines.

    Alarge proportion of time will be spent supporting the growingbusiness, but there will be full engagement in cross borderadvisory projects across the EU.

    Further, business partnering andtax audit support will be an essential part of the role.


    The successful candidate will possess theability to complete multiple concurrent projects at the same time;react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quickresponse; and solve problems that affect people within the group orother related groups.

    Key jobresponsibilities

    Primary responsibilities willinclude:

    • Advising, coordinating and problem solvingacross a multi functional team, including business, legal,accounting, finance.
    • Supporting international and localtax controversy teams on tax audits in German speakingcountries.
    • Researching and documenting direct taxissues, including coordination with external advisors and supportpresentation of tax impacts.
    • Reviewing new businessinitiatives and scoping any effect on existing processes andsystems.
    • Investigating and responding to internal andexternal information requests.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    Further,background in German direct tax matters and German fluent languageskills are required.

    BasicQualifications

    • At least ten years advisory experiencein a large accounting/consultancy practice, law firm, tax authorityor business inhouse.
    • Proficiency English and Germanlanguage.
    Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, finance,or related field.

    • Experienced in German taxlegislation.

    PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

    PreferredQualifications

    • Recognized professional tax qualification(Steuerberater) is desirable but not essential.
    • Hardworking, quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude andsolid professionalism.
    • Effective written and verbalcommunication skills.
    • Strong analytical skills with theability to understand processes and systems.
    • Ability todeal with ambiguity and manage changingpriorities.
