    About us Sund & Bælt develops, constructs, and operates infrastructure that connects people.

    In our projects, we aim for the highest levels of health & safety and work closely with our partners to ensure a safe working environment.

    One of the projects is the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link, an 18 km immersed tunnel between Denmark and Germany.

    Tasks The job You will become part of Sund & Bælt's Department for Social Sustainability, which, in addition to health and safety, covers working conditions and apprentices.

    We are eight colleagues passionate about creating positive conditions for the many people working on our projects.

    You will be working primarily on the Fehmarnbelt Project and take the lead in securing that the HSE coordination on the construction site on Fehmarn, on the German side, is always in or ahead of compliance.


    Your key tasks will include:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and company policies between the various contracts and work activities.
    • Promote a culture of safety across the project, encouraging active participation in safety initiatives, recognition of safe practices and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure high HSE standards in accordance to Plan for Health & Safety (HSE) and Femern A/S Common Areas. This includes taking lead in conducting the bi-weekly General HSE coordination meetings across the various contracts.
    • Coordinate between General Contractors, Femern A/S Contract HSE Specialists in Germany, HSE Parallel Work Manager and Owner's Sicherheits- und Gesundheitsschutzkoordinator (SiGeKo).
    • Contribute to development of Emergency Response Plan for Germany in alignment with Owner's SiGeKo and Femern A/S Safety and Emergency Coordinator.
    • Contribute to the development and coordinate the execution of HSE campaigns in close collaboration with the Project HSE Manager, the HSE team in Puttgarden and the Femern Campaign Project Manager.
    • When applicable, facilitate and participate in German HSE authority and stakeholder meetings (i.e. StAUK, BG Bau, BG Verkehr, LBEG, F-SURR).
    • Transfer of knowledge from the Fehmarn Project to other parts of the Sund & Bælt value chain. Profile Your profile You possess the German qualification for Occupational Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (Sifa)). You hold an engineering degree or an equivalent academic background, like science or project management and monitoring, and you are trained within HSE certifications and proactive health and safety culture. You are fluent in both German and English. You have +5 years of experience within HSE with large organizations, and preferably +2 years of experience from a large construction project managing contractors and subcontractors. You possess good knowledge on German Health and Safety legislations and its application on a construction site according to the German construction ordnance (Baustellenverordnung). Relational competencies are a must, to navigate a large organization, and you should be comfortable operating in an international environment and visiting construction sites.
