- Adapting the design of auxiliary converters for railway applications due to (obsolete) components no longer available on the market and carrying out the associated problem and interface analyses.
- Specification of (replacement) components according to customer specifications and product requirements and cooperation with the purchasing department for procurement (electronic components, inductive components, heat sinks, fans, power supply)
- Collaboration in the re-validation of the product after design customization
- Adaptation of the electrical interfaces to the subsystems of the inverter including the control software for the inverter with the software developers
- Electrical and thermal design, including simulation of the circuit in Matlab/Simulink (Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturing/Maintenance, RAMS)
- Creating and coordinating the specifications for the design and actively supporting the design implementation and realisation in prototype construction
- Carrying out electrical and thermal tests in the laboratory and on the vehicle, type test of the inverter in the Power Lab depending on the scope and type of redesign carried out
- Commissioning in the laboratory and in the target vehicle environment
- Adaptation of the documentation accompanying the development, including preparatory work for the training documentation
- Supporting the technical sales team with regard to obsolescence-driven customer enquiries
- University degree in electrical engineering, specializing in power electronics
- Proven experience (>5 years is a plus) in the development of power electronic devices in the areas of auxiliary systems or railway technology
- Experience with the design and testing of power electronic circuits in IGBT technology preferably in the power range up to several 100 kW
- Experience in the use of SiC semiconductors is an advantage
- Experience in simulation with Matlab/Simulink or other tools
- Good English and German language skills, both written and spoken
- Initiative, creativity and attention to detail, good team spirit
- Cooperative, solution-orientated approach and good written and spoken communication skills
- Independent, goal-orientated and analytical way of working, flexibility, high level of commitment
