    Position Summary

    Samsung's product innovation and competitiveness are the result of close partnerships with
    market-leading suppliers.

    Our department, Samsung Europe IPC : International Procurement Centre is responsible for sourcing and purchasing components and materials for our products (Smartphone, TV, Home appliances, etc.) from suppliers headquartered in the EMEA region.

    Consequently, our activities lead to new functionalities, design, quality and price competitiveness of our products.

    We are looking for an individual who has interest in technology and a desire to begin their career journey in the procurement sector of the tech industry as
    Junior Sourcing Specialist (m/f/d) - with Korean language
    Location : Schwalbach, Germany

    Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sourcing companies (potential suppliers) of certain component/material category
  • Introduce and promote competitive company/solutions to satisfy the requirements of HQ R&D and Procurement teams
  • Evaluate the company's competitiveness in terms of technology, quality, cost and supply
  • Develop collaborative relationships with disruptive technology companies
  • Guide, consult and nurture companies to meet Samsung's supplier requirements
  • Initiate development projects and create businesses by achieving project adoption and design win (commercialization) through internal proposals
  • Support HQ stakeholders with supply troubleshooting, business meetings/visits, events and fairs
  • In due course as a Sourcing specialist with project management responsibilities, carry out : Market research, new supplier scouting, tech evaluation, proposal, sample purchasing, price and business T&C negotiations, auditing, contracting, supply chain verifications and internal vendor system registrations.
  • Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Science from a reputable university (Technical background), abundant internship experience first career experience preferred
  • Write and speak Korean and English at a high level of professional fluency, able to persuade and influence HQ/supplier with excellent communication skills
  • Organizational and Tech savvy, commercially astute, up to date with latest consumer electronics market trends and product releases, solid understanding of technical concepts and functions
  • Proficient in MS Office; advanced in Excel and PowerPoint, able to data crawl and create reader-centric reports and presentations
  • Energetic outgoing team player with a forward-thinking, self-initiating attitude, able to comfortably make cold calls, striving for challenges and self-development
  • German/EU work visa and driving license holder, accustomed to European business culture, market and local customs, able to travel frequently and navigate within Europe and Korea
