    Our Mission: We're on a mission to digitize the packaging industry with data, process automation, AI and great UX to increase the market share of sustainable packaging.

    We help companies to reduce material usage, increase recyclability, use recycled plastics, substitute ordinary plastics with alternatives or replace plastics with flexible paper.

    Now, we're expanding our impact by bringing a new SaaS product to the market, which optimizes packaging procurement and management for our customers and makes a significant contribution to reducing their environmental footprint.

    Tasks

    • Taking full ownership of our largest category; being the key person who helps Packmatic become the largest sourcing channel of this product type in Europe in the next 5–7 years
    • End-to-end category ownership, incl. P&L responsibility, strategy development and hands-on execution, negotiating competitive pricing & conditions for our customers
    • Create long term partnerships with our key suppliers, working to ensure they unlock value on our platform
    • Be highly motivated to independently learn the technical details of the category and become the expert for flexible packaging across Europe
    • Scale our supply-base to the next level
    • Partnering cross-functionally with our packaging technology teams, our customer facing sales teams and leadership to steer the overall direction of your category

    Requirements

    • You have 5–7 years' experience in a buying, or account management on the supply side of a marketplace
    • You have proven experience leading and executing a high volume of negotiations (up to C-Level), demonstrating the ability to unlock mutually beneficial outcomes in a wide variety of situations
    • You have demonstrated success project managing (ideally also cross-functionally) a category or portfolio over several years; exceeding revenue and margin targets
    • You are scrappy, detail oriented and with a builder mindset, taking the lead on a complex product category, becoming an industry expert & de-facto business owner internally (up to founder level)
    • You are a strategic and creative thinker who can turn research and data into actionable plans
    • Fluent English as mandatory, fluency in German and/or Polish a plus
