- Work on a specific problem space critical to Klarna's current needs with opportunities to switch teams as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based backend services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability
- Work closely with cloud technologies, with a preference for AWS, to develop and deploy our services
- Engage in the full project lifecycle – from conception to deployment and beyond, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to spec
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Klarna to align on integration strategies and optimize system architecture
- Drive an engineering culture within the team, emphasizing innovation, quality, and continuous improvement
- Proactively identify potential issues in our distributed and financial systems before they arise
- Work in small autonomous teams with short release cyclesYou should have
- Proficient in Java and Spring Boot, with hands-on experience in backend development
- Experience in PostgreSQL
- Experience in Architecting and building system
- Experienced with cloud technologies, especially AWS
- Skilled in distributed and financial systems, capable of anticipating and mitigating issues preemptively
- Independent, able to manage projects end-to-end and lead people effectively
- A strong communicator, capable of interfacing with other teams and domains
- Previously led a team, with a track record of building positive engineering cultures
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written EnglishYou might also have
