Postdoctoral Fellow (f/m/d) in pancreatic cancer

The Ellenrieder Lab specializes in fundamental and translational studies on cancer with a specific emphasis on pancreatic cancer. Their research delves into the signaling, transcriptional, and metabolic pathways that govern tumor growth, plasticity, and resistance to treatments. They investigate various regulatory mechanisms influencing genome and chromatin dynamics, metabolic alterations, and their implications in pancreatic cancer progression and resistance.

As part of the clinical research unit (CRU) 5002, focused on 'Deciphering Genome Dynamics for Subtype-specific Therapy in Pancreatic Cancer,' the lab explores new molecular vulnerabilities and their potential for personalized treatment strategies. They utilize diverse in vitro and in vivo tumor models, along with extensive genome-wide and bioinformatic tools for transcriptional, translational, and metabolic analysis, particularly leveraging molecularly and genomically characterized patient-derived xenografts, organoids, and cell lines. The role involves collaborating with international peers, department partners, and various research entities within the university. The project encompasses standard molecular biology methods, NGS-sequencing, and metabolic plasticity assessment, with regular result sharing and presentation at departmental and G-CCC seminars.

Your responsibilities:

• plan and execute projects related to metabolic and stress adaptation in pancreatic cancer
• compose manuscripts/grant proposals
• supervise and mentor lab students

Your profile:

• Ph.D. in biology or related discipline
• Proficiency in cell culture, molecular biology, sequencing, and NGS techniques
• Desirable experience in fields like pancreatic cancer, NGS data analysis, Calcium signaling, UPR, or metabolism
• FELASA B or C certification is advantageous
• Strong publication track record
• Fluent in English (mandatory), German skills are a plus
• High self-motivation, keen on interdisciplinary collaboration between medical practitioners and scientists
