Job Description:

The Umweltbetrieb Bremen is responsible for various municipal economic services as a public utility of the city. With around 400 employees, we are highly committed to providing and further developing services for the city of Bremen. We are currently looking for a Civil Engineer / Architect to lead the Department of Construction Planning and Building Maintenance in the Areas and Building Management section.

Company:

• Responsible for planning, construction, and maintenance of green spaces, cemeteries, crematorium operations, and municipal wastewater management
• Caring for optimal working conditions for our employees in maintaining green spaces by providing suitable office spaces, sanitary facilities, and machinery halls
• Driving climate policy goals through our location and climate concept

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of seven members in the department both professionally and disciplinarily
• Develop the organizational structure of the department
• Manage the properties of Umweltbetrieb Bremen for construction projects, ensuring cost control and adherence to budgets
• Coordinate external architects, planners, and companies for projects
• Work on conceptual development to optimize properties in terms of usability and energy efficiency

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture with 3-5 years of experience in building planning and maintenance
• Knowledge of construction laws and regulations
• Experience in energy-efficient building refurbishment, soundproofing, fire protection, and public building law
• Proficiency in standard software like MS Office and Excel
• Strong organizational and communication skills
