    About the Role:


    The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing routine payroll processing for employees' payroll, payroll taxes and benefit deductions and incentive payments, for the Germany employee population while liaising with payroll agents and HR and Payroll colleagues in other Wiley locations.

    Primary responsibilities will be working with employee data from Human Resources' Workday HR management system, and Wiley's payroll platform and timekeeping system, ensuring the changes are processed accurately and completely for the processing of payroll for approximately 450 employees.

    The Payroll Specialist will execute monthly payroll reporting, preparation of journal entries and month end reconciliations to record payroll and related expenses to the General Ledger in the SAP system.


    How you will make an impact:

    Be responsible for updating payroll with permanent data changed via reporting from HR system (performing all SOXA checks prior to upload), in addition to all non-permanent data (e.g.

    overtime, sickness) and other data (e.g.

    tax codes, allowances and deductions) from various sourcesYou will complete timely payroll accounting in compliance with tax and social security regulations and internal insurance regulations as well as labor/collective bargaining agreement provisionsProcess ELSTAM and EEL proceduresHandle subsequent payroll processes, such as demand letters, communication with authorities and institutionsPrepare final payroll checks prior to payroll submissionEnter and maintain master data in accordance with tax and SI law as well as in accordance with company agreementsBe responsible for providing pay and payment details to finance and responsible for updating and reconciling year to date payroll figures for HMRC on spreadsheetAssist with tax year end preparation and completionWhat we look for:
    Have a payroll qualification or by experienceHave successfully completed commercial training, e.g.
