The Embedded Systems degree program combines engineering with computer science. It combines content from electrical engineering, electronics, information technology and systems engineering. Whenever a computer system consisting of hardware and software components is "embedded" in a comprehensive technical product, we are dealing with this cross-sectional technology.

In everyday life, we encounter embedded systems, for example, in smartphones, smart TVs and also in our vehicles: in infotainment, assistance and safety systems or in autonomous driving.

In addition to the technical fundamentals of electrical engineering, electronics, and computer science, the Automotive Engineering program includes extensive courses on

System and software development, approval requirements, norms and industry standards in the automotive sector.

During the practical phases, you will gain experience, e.g. in vehicle development, in software and control unit development, in measurement and testing technology or in production.

Theory: The theory phases take place at the DHBW in Ravensburg/Campus Friedrichshafen

Practical: Training courses and seminars are mainly held at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Untertürkheim. Practical assignments take place mainly at the Bremen location. One assignment may take place abroad.
