Position Overview:

As a Backend Software Developer at Think Huge , you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our hosting infrastructure, as well as creating and enhancing web applications. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and implementing software solutions, and ensuring the scalability, performance, and reliability of our systems.

Must Have:

Commercial experience with the mentioned technologies

• PHP and the use of a modern PHP framework (we use Laravel)
• Understanding of basics in servers, virtualization and networking (we are a Hosting company)
• Bash, Perl, Python a big plus
• MySQL and database design
• Solid testing etiquette, preferably using TDD (PHPUnit)
• GitHub for version control
• Postman for testing APIs
• Experience with hosting/trading/fintech industry

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize web applications using PHP and Laravel framework.
• Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and implement server-side functionality.
• Gain a solid understanding of servers, virtualization, and networking to support our hosting services.
• Utilize Bash, Perl, and Python to automate tasks and enhance system functionality.
• Work with MySQL and contribute to database design and optimization.
• Follow solid testing practices, preferably using TDD (Test-Driven Development) with PHPUnit.
• Manage version control using GitHub, ensuring code quality and collaboration.
• Use Postman for testing APIs and ensuring they meet performance and functionality standards.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in backend development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Backend Software Developer, with a strong focus on PHP and Python.
• Commercial experience with Laravel and other PHP frameworks is highly beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of servers, virtualization, and networking concepts, especially in a hosting environment.
• Proficiency in Bash, Perl, and Python is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of MySQL and database design principles.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and experience using PHPUnit.
• Proficiency with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Experience using Postman for API testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
