The Role

trivago is a publicly-listed company on Nasdaq, and we believe that maintaining accurate and detailed financial records is paramount to driving our business forward.

As a US GAAP Technical Accountant, you'll be a valuable consultant on various accounting topics and tackle complex accounting issues within the company.

You will research standards, analyze options, and recommend effective solutions, as well as lead exciting cross-functional projects, showcasing your expertise and leadership skills.

How you'll make an impact:

Conduct comprehensive research of US GAAP accounting standards and assess their applicability to current and relevant accounting topics
Prepare detailed documentation and collaborate with external stakeholders to provide technical accounting interpretations and conclusions
Lead projects with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting for complex transactions and drive the implementation of new accounting requirements
Evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements and reporting guidance to ensure compliance
Assist the financial reporting team in preparing financial statement disclosures for quarterly and annual reporting
Develop and review accounting policies, ensuring robust documentation and governance processes are in place
Communicate new and complex technical accounting concepts effectively to both accountants and nonaccountants and conduct accountingrelated training sessions

What we're looking for:

A bachelor's and/or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
5+ years of experience, preferably within a publiclylisted company and/or a large public accounting firm
Fluency in English, with excellent documentation and writing skills
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
A proactive and independent approach to work, with the ability and desire to prioritize effectively
Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex accounting topics to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, organizing team dynamics, and delivering results, including leading projects
Enthusiasm for working and learning in a fastpaced, fun, and dynamic environment

What makes you stand out:

CPA license in US GAAP/IFRS
Knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP
Practical financial reporting experience
Solid understanding of income tax provisions and related disclosures
Command of German language
