The Position:

As an Analytical Development Postdoc at Boehringer Ingelheim, you will use your expertise in analytical methods and statistics to drive our strategy for systematic method development in late-stage projects.

You will not only explore novel approaches to method development and validation, but also work as part of a team to implement analytical quality by design across the entire analytical department.

This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities:

In your new role, you will develop chromatographic methods for complex separations using systematic method development and software tools such as FUSION, DryLab, and DesignExpert.
Moreover, you will utilize your expertise in Design of Experiment (DoE) to optimize analytical methods and demonstrate robustness during method validation.
As a Post Doc, you will interpret data from your experiments using statistical tools and develop mathematical models to describe the results.
Furthermore, you will collaborate with the DoE team to develop strategies for reporting DoE results both internally and externally.
Through your solid expertise, you will foster our innovation culture by collaborating with academia and industry partners.
Optimization and expansion of our stateoftheart equipment and software tools to unlock scientific progress in the field of instrumental analytics is also part of your tasks.

Requirements:

Doctoral degree in natural sciences, preferably in chemistry, pharmacy or biochemistry with a strong background in instrumental analytics, or similar disciplines
Experience in Design of Experiment Software e.g. Fusion, DryLab, and DesignExpert is beneficial
Indepth experience with chromatographic separation techniques, preferably with high performance liquid chromatography
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple multifaceted projects as a scientific lead while maintaining a strong analytical focus
Skills to leverage collaboration within existing teams and by establishing new ones
Excellent communication skills as well as sound technical writing and documentation competencies in English, German is a plus
