Your responsibilities and tasks:


In GEA HRT we are developing new digital solutions to improve or maintain the reliability and energy efficiency of our Refrigeration Systems and Heat Pumps.

Building on component-focused solutions, we will develop digital solutions that address optimization potential of a full installation / plant, e.g.

in the area of energy/CO2 management. A new position within GEA HRT Digitalization will be created for a Product Owner.

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for the digital products/services
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer requirements. Understand the digital solution ecosystem of targeted customer segments. Screen relevant existing digital solutions to identify partnering options (Time to market)
  • Gather requirements from customers and stakeholders (customer focused product development) Define potential added value (value proposition) and derive product feature set. Define business model. Validate value proposition with digital prototypes (low resolution)
  • Define (mínimal viable) product roadmap. Evaluate Buy options for features of the product roadmap. Steer digital product development process with internal and external teams (agile methodology).
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design and deliver product features that meet customer needs. Prepare product market launch.
  • Life cycle Management: Analyze product usage and performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Define and maintain product backlogs and prioritize work to ensure timely delivery of new features.
  • Position requires occasional travelling

Your profile and qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 4+ years working experience in developing digital products, preferably in the area of service for machines or plants
  • Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in developing digital products
  • Industry experience in process industries (e.g. food production) or in machine or plant engineering
  • Knowledge of heating & refrigeration technologies or in the area of energy/CO2 management for plants would be a plus
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and digital product development processes
  • Knowledge of software architecture & APIdevelopment (compatibility to standard software solutions)
  • Agile and pragmatic mindset, entrepreneurial drive
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good Communication skills to present digital products to nondigital stakeholders
  • Fluent in English
