Our vision at atingi is a world in which digital learning is inclusive, accessible, relevant, safe and secure for all.

In developing and emerging countries, access to lifelong learning opportunities is scarce and remains a challenge, especially for disadvantaged groups with diverse educational backgrounds.

To address this gap, GIZ is implementing the atingi platform, a Moodle-based, open-source Learning Management System. We are also strongly aligned with the international Principles for Digital Development. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, BMZ.


For our product management & technology team in Bonn, Germany, we are looking for a curious, creative and well-organised intern.

We offer first-hand experience in Digital Transformation - a highly relevant field in international cooperation and development -, an agile work environment in a young and motivated team and the possibility to learn and network in our organisation.


Your tasks:

In this role, you will be part of the product management & technology team. During your internship, you will

  • Support the improvement of user journeys and user experience (ux) on the learning platform that helps our learners find the right content for them (keyword: discoverability)
  • Support our implementation of a strong and highquality content portfolio in close collaboration with key international partners and our learners
  • Support crossteam product roadmap and development activities, including requirements management, coordination with the respective service providers, all within a Kanban environment
  • Contribute to enhancing our partners' implementation of highquality didactical learning environments through knowledge transfer and service support
  • Be part of the efforts to help our users learners, GIZ projects and educators with daytoday support requests and issues (about 1/3 of your time)
  • Contribute to optimizing our internal processes and our collaborative work with our external service providers

Your profile:

  • You study from the fifth semester onwards in educational science, with a focus on digital learning. We also welcome motivated and committed applicants from related disciplines who can demonstrate a strong affinity to and experience in these areas
  • You have first experience in the fields of user experience or user research
  • You have great interest in the potential that new technologies can have on the digitalisation of the education sector in various learning settings (selfpaced, blended learning etc.
  • You have knowledge or experience in international cooperation and international relations, experience in GIZ partner countries is an advantage
  • You have very good organisational skills, structured thinking and the ability to work efficient while being able to quickly and comprehensively dive into new topics
  • You have first experience in agile processes like Kanban and you like to work actively in the team
  • You have a highlevel fluency in English; proficiency in German, French or Spanish is a benefit
