YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Familiarize yourself with vortex particle methods (FLOW Unsteady, DUST)
  • Setup validation cases for isolated propeller simulations in unsteady loading conditions and multipropeller configurations
  • Multifidelity data generation of aerodynamic data
  • Perform postprocessing and analysis of the numerical data
  • Familiarize yourself with available inhouse simulations models
  • Continue the development of a vortex particle method to improve the numerical accuracy and solver time performance
  • Documentation of implementation and performed research studies

YOUR PROFILE

  • Enrolled student (M/F/d) in a technical course, such as mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering with focus on aerodynamics
  • Good understanding and interest in aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics
  • Basic knowledge of a CFD software is beneficial (Ansys Fluent preferred)
  • Solid understanding of propellers and/or helicopter rotor aerodynamics
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in a programming language (Python, Matlab and C++ are preferred)
