Underwriter for Nuclear Risks
We are looking for an underwriter for our Center of Excellence for Nuclear Power in Munich. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop yourself in a highly specialized and fascinating business field.


Your job
Supporting the underwriting of construction and/or operational Nuclear risks in accordance with our strategy (including ESG aspects) on a world-wide basis:

  • Underwriting of new and renewal engineering business following agreed strategy and within designated underwriting authority.
  • Support and perform risk assessment including pricing, wording analysis, accumulation management and acceptance of construction
- and operational risks.

  • Conduct and assist in negotiations with policyholders and brokers and site surveys.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand client and broker relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of the portfolio by acquiring profitable new business.
  • Help implement portfolio analysis and compiling statistics and reports.
  • Remain up to date with legal/market developments concerning the lines of business.
  • Assuring compliance with groupwide guidelines.
  • Conducting negotiations with clients and their brokers
  • Developing, maintaining, and expanding client and broker relationships.
  • Assisting the implementation of portfolio analysis and compiling statistics and reports.
  • Consulting of internal clients with regards to technology or exclusions e.g. radioactive exposures and exclusions

Your profile

  • University degree in engineering, physics or applied sciencerelated discipline.
  • Interest in nuclear technology and insurance of project business with the preparedness to familiarize with emerging technologies like smallandmodular reactors (SMRs) and fusion technology.
  • Preferably knowledge of risk assessment and contracts.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strongly pronounced sales orientation with the ability to build sustainable relationships with clients and brokers.
  • High degree of responsibility, motivation, decisiveness and selfemployment.
  • Excellent social skills, ability to fit in and work in a team.
  • Analytical skills, capability to be innovative and creative.
  • Solutionoriented with a focused, proactive, and efficient work style.
  • Prepardness to keep track of developing and new technologies.
  • Fluent business English and good knowledge of German is essential; Spanish is of advantage.
  • Willingness to travel.
