Job Description:


Sportradar's newly founded Sports Virtualisation unit develops innovative and disruptive technology to enable the transition from traditional sports media consumption to new ways to engage with sports.

The latest computer vision technology is key to allowing real-time rendering of statistics and virtual ads on top of broadcasts.

It also enables the use of skeletal tracking data to render virtual recreations of sports events and transform the way they are experienced.

Together with the top leagues and federations around the globe, we are working on our vision for a range of products to increase fan engagement for the world of tomorrow.


We are looking for you to bridge the gap between virtual arts and programming, ensuring that art assets can be easily integrated into
Unity or Unreal Engine without compromising either visual fidelity or performance.

With a deep understanding of the engine's capabilities, you work closely with both artists and programmers to develop tools, shaders, and workflows that elevate the visual quality and efficiency of our products.

This role is base on-side in Bremen with a hybrid working model


THE CHALLENGE:


  • You build and maintain Shaders, Materials, Particle effects, Lighting and camera setups and complex scripted composite effects
  • Optimize assets for peak performance in Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Develop and maintain art production workflows, often scripting custom tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Work alongside artists to pinpoint and rectify technical challenges with assets.
  • Collaborate with artists to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with assets.
  • Assist in integrating art assets into the engine without degrading performance or visual appeal.
  • Handle and optimize scene composition from lighting to crowd simulation.
  • Guide the integration of art assets into Unreal or Unity Engine, ensuring both aesthetic and performance criteria are met.

Qualifications:


  • Proficiency in Unity especially in its Shader Graph, material and lighting systems or proficiency with Unreal Engine 5.0 (or newer versions) and its material editor and Lumen global illumination system.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of realtime rendering and art asset optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling and animation software like Blender
  • Experience with scripting or programming, especially in Blueprint (C++), C# or Python.
  • Exceptional communication skills to bridge the gap between artistic and technical teams.
  • You are interested in sports, game development and modern web technologies
  • You have a good command of written and spoken English and German language is considered a plus
  • Continuous personal development is a matter of course for you
