W2 Professorship with tenure track to W3 in Animal Husbandry (f/m/d)
The appointment is initially for five years. Transfer to a permanent professorship (W3) shall take place after a positive evaluation without the position being readvertised.

The holder of the position will develop and implement innovations in the field of livestock husbandry systems including process engineering and the incorporation of aspects such as animal welfare, performance and economics.

In addition, contributions to the development of Precision Livestock Farming are expected.

We are looking for a committed scholar who is willing to collaborate with colleagues and who has an international publication record as well as experience in teaching and with the acquisition and implementation of research projects, all corresponding to her/his current career progression.

Research should focus on agricultural topics with an international profile.

We expect an interdisciplinary orientation as well as cooperation both within the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences as well as with other faculties and members of the Göttingen Campus, for example in DFG collaborative research projects or comparable formats.

The University of Göttingen offers excellent opportunities to cooperate with various scientific partners and enterprises in the livestock production sector.

Appointment requirements are stipulated by Article 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act in the most current version of that law.

As a rule, junior professors and other members of the University of Göttingen who have obtained their doctorate from this university can only be considered for a professorial appointment if after the completion of the doctoral thesis they have transferred to another university or worked for a minimum of two years in research elsewhere.

The University of Göttingen is a Public Law Foundation and thereby entitled to award professorships. Details will be provided upon request.

Please note that only the German version of this job announcement is legally binding.
