Your Responsibilities:


As a Head of Cloud Excellence, you will use your passion and expertise in automation and cloud environments to drive innovation and improve efficiency.

As a senior leadership position, this role is responsible for the hands on Technology and Business services for operations and delivery of Cloud offerings.

This role will report to the Director Infrastructure Operations and Cloud Platform Engineering.


The role has the overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of managing Cloud Services including software deployment and upgrades, system setup, system administration, monitoring, incident resolution, problem management, configuration and change management, security management and monitoring, capacity planning, availability management.


In this context, you will:

  • Collaborate with SRE, Cloud Platform Engineering, Architecture, Application Development, Support, Service Management, Security community, and other peers to enable an operational environment for new and existing services supported by Cloud Infrastructure;
  • Manage daily escalation of critical customer issues, and work collaboratively with other teams to identify and resolve technical problems within the SLA targets;
  • Initiate actions to improve service quality, customer service excellence by identifying and solving recurring patterns of issues;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team around best practices for Public Cloud solutions in Azure;
  • Be in charge of staff hiring, performance management, career planning & retention;
  • Collect and report on key operational and service level agreement metrics;
  • Develop and maintain organizational policies, procedures, and processes;
  • Find opportunities for the appropriate and costeffective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources
This position is to be filled hybrid from Germany. We have offices in Frankfurt & Freiburg.


Your Profile:


  • 10+ years of combined work experience in IT Management Cloud Operations, Service Delivery or any related field;
  • Consistent track record (ideally minimum 5 years) in leading diverse technical operations or professional services team in a fastpaced cloud environment;
  • Excellent communication skills (communicating and reporting technical concepts to business and IT stakeholders)
  • Deep technical expertise in Azure cloud Infrastructure, with the ability to build and run consistent global operations for customers;
  • Good understanding of Kubernetes (AKS), Microservices, with expertise in implementing infrastructure and process automation;
  • Proven experience in customer escalation management;
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns and trends;
  • Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and project management aptitudes;
  • Handson experience with ITIL4 processes: change, incident, problem, request;
  • Experience with Incident Response and Communication toolset: StatusPage, Pagerduty;
  • Fluent in English, German or any other language skills are a plus.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with the cloud providers AWS, GCP, Tanzu;
  • Methodologies: Prince, Agile, Six Sigma or LEAN.
