The Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) is a globally visible interdisciplinary research center for machine intelligence, which is the integration of robotics, artificial intelligence and perception.

More than 62 professors from various TUM faculties cooperate within the framework of MIRMI.

Key Responsibilities:

Management and leadership of the scientific team of the institute
Acquisition, coordination, and organization of scientific research projects at the MIRMI
Administrative and financial management in this context
Contribution to the strategic direction of the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence
Networking with important representatives from politics, funding institutions, and project partners in the field of robotics and systems intelligence
Coordination of 3rd party and internal projects in order for them to match the research goals of the institute as well as being a management representative of the MIRMI in these initiatives (national and international projects)
Development and management of the research facilities and shared research infrastructure

Requirements:

Outstanding Ph.

D., ideally in engineering, robotics, mechatronics, cybernetics, nonlinear control or a related field

Experience in a leadership and management position, ideally in the field of robotics, mechatronics engineering, computer science etc.
Rich professional experience in the organization of national and international scientific research projects (financial and administrative) or in the described areas of responsibility, preferably at a research institution or university
Analyzing and strategicconceptual skills, high flexibility and the ability to work under pressure, high willingness to cooperate
Very high interest in interdisciplinary scientific issues
Excellent organizational and communicative skills
Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement, the willingness to learn German is desirable,
High motivation and willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
