The research group Translational Brain Research (Prof. J. Herms/PD Dr. Th.

Koeglsperger) is looking for a PhD student with a strong interest in the field of molecular neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease (PD).

This PhD project will be focusing on investigating molecular and cellular changes occurring early during the progression of Lewy body pathology (LBP) in PD.

The study aims at discovering novel molecular diagnostic and therapeutic targets during LBP progression by analyzing disease-associated transcriptomic changes in post-mortem tissue and in different in vitro and in vivo models of PD.
