The Institute of Information Security and Dependability (KASTEL) offers a fully funded research assistant position in the Helmholtz project "Building Healthcare Resilience Against Cyber-Attacks" at the earliest possible date.

In recent years, the number and severity of cyber-attacks against healthcare providers and hospitals worldwide have increased significantly, resulting in blocked access to patient data and critical services, appointment cancellations, and closed emergency departments.

This Helmholtz project is dedicated to making an entire hospital network more resilient to future cyber threats by developing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach.

This project aims to use operations research methods to support decisions on selecting and implementing a range of appropriate preparation and response measures for an interdependent hospital network to become resilient in the event of cyber-attacks.

Your main tasks and responsibilities within this project are:

Conduct academic research which will lead to high quality scientific publications in the field of operations research and business analytics
Contribute to projects with academic and industrial partners, e.g. KASTEL, Imperial College London, hospitals in Germany etc.
Assist in teaching activities of the department
