Research Scientists (M/F/d) on Technologies and Systems

that enable Hydrogen Aircraft
in the field of either Natural Sciences or Engineering


Our challenges:
-
Hydrogen based aircraft require novel technologies from

fundamental levels as materials or electro-chemistry to

systems and their integration into the aircraft

  • Bringing novel technologies together and making use of
synergies does require multiple disciplines and their

interdisciplinary effort

  • In a joint effort, you will develop concepts for new energy
systems based on batteries and/or fuel cells. This will address

all relevant areas from energy storage and provisioning,

through thermal management to the final propulsive power on

aircraft level

  • Assessing the potential of those novel concepts will also
include life-cycle aspects with evaluation of ecological and
techno-economic criteria as well as other performance
indicators

  • Evaluating their impact on climate change and possible
mitigations options


We need you because:
-
You have successfully completed your master and wish to

obtain a PhD or you are a Post-Doc and want to gain know
- how and extend your personal network

  • You have gained experience in any area that will help to
tackle the challenges at hand, being it material sciences or

systems engineering

  • Ideally you have already gained an insight in lifecycle
assessment of novel technologies or systems

  • You have excellent mathematical and analytical skills, good
programming skills in Python and are willing to familiarise

yourself with new topics and tools

  • You are interested in targetoriented tasks, creative
challenges, out-of-the-box thinking and in interdisciplinary

team work

  • You want to work in joint academic or industry projects
  • You are proficient in German and English
