Duties:


  • Responsible for proper and accurate preparation of law enforcement related reports and forms, including statements, correspondence as necessary.
  • Serve as the Police Officer overseeing military and Civilian Police Officers assigned to the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with and enforce full range of Federal, State, Host Nation laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Analyze emergency situations to determine appropriate level of response.
  • Coordinate emergency responses between law enforcement, security, fire and other emergency units.
  • Distribute and balance workload among patrols and assure timely accomplishment of operations during shift.

  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • This position requires a valid, stateissued and USAREUR Driver's License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command's structure.
  • This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).
  • This position requires the completion of a preemployment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
  • This position requires a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties unless previously completed.
  • Must complete initial/annual CPR (re)certification and first aid. Must meet annual training and recertification requirements.
  • Must obtain a medical clearance before permission is granted to take the Physical Agility Test (PAT). Meet manual dexterity, vision and hearing test; pass the annual PAT, pass a periodic examination. Must pass the Physical Agility Test.
  • Must Graduate from a USAMPS accredited academy, unless have a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG).
  • Must qualify/remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form2760, meet Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
  • Must wear the DACP/SG uniform, chemical protection equipment and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.

Qualifications:


This is a Term position scheduled to last 24 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Who May Apply:

US Citizens-NOTE: For most one-grade interval occupational series, the qualification standard calls for at least 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level.

Sometimes, however, there is no position in the normal line of progression in an organization that is one grade lower than the position being filled.

In such instances, 1 year of specialized experience at the second lower level (GS-07) is creditable for in-service applicants.

However, for outside applicants (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service), 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-08) is required.


Education:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
