The role is 100% remote and can be based in the UK, Germany, or the Netherlands.

  • As a

Commercial Sales Associate for the UK & Ireland ("UK&I") sub-regions, you will be part of the EMEA Commercial Sales Team, an integral part of Fluence's Finance organisation. Reporting to the UK&I Senior Commercial Sales Manager and working alongside Sales, Sales Engineering and Legal experts in multi-disciplinary 'Deal Teams', you will be involved in a variety of exciting, highly impactful and high value sales projects for Fluence's EMEA region.

  • The main purpose of the Commercial Sales role is to achieve a balanced risk profile for the sales contract of a battery energy storage system, where risks and mitigation measures are clearly identified, defined and addressed from the outset, thereby allowing for a successful and smooth project execution.
  • Your role will involve:
- supporting the Commercial Sales team on all commercial activities / topics throughout the project acquisition phase, with emphasis on:

  • implementing the chosen commenting strategy in close collaboration with Sales and Legal,
- o foreign currency risk management,
- o financial securities such as parent company guarantees and bonds,

o liaison with financing experts to support customers' financing requirements,

o project cash flow modeling and assessment against corporate targets,
- o liaison with tax & insurance experts, and
- o prepare approval requests, obtain deal approvals and document the same.
- support Commercial Sales Managers and Deal Teams with documenting lessons learned from prior bids and closed deals.
- keeping up to date a 'Commercial Sales Sharepoint' where lessons learned and best-practice is kept.
- supporting the CSM Director with forecasting and planning order intake revenue and margin.


WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
- o Bachelor's or Master's degree in 'Law and Finance', 'Law' (in particular contracts and/or commercial law), 'Finance', or 'Business Administration'.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • After the first three to six months, we expect that you will have:
  • successfully gained the confidence and trust of the key stakeholders in the organisation;
- o gained a comprehensive understanding of Fluence's offering, capabilities and opportunities for growth; and
- o played a key part in ensuring that commercial excellence is applied across the sales cycle.

  • Prior experience within or knowledge of the cleantech and/or energy industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the FIDIC Suite of contracts or NEC forms of contract is a plus.
