Stratosphere Games is an AAA mobile game developer based in Berlin, Germany, looking for a Senior Character Artist to support the development of existing and upcoming projects.

As a Senior Character Artist, you will play a pivotal role in defining the look of the character, leveraging the modular components of the art pipelines, guiding our character creation process and creating high-quality assets.

Your responsibilities:

Creating ingame characters from scratch following a concept art or art direction by keeping in mind and following the technical requirements.
Modeling and texturing characters using industrystandard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, or similar tools.
Working closely with Tech Art, concept art and other dependent departments throughout the character production process.
Do all the pipeline steps for 3D asset creation (model, texture, baking, implementation)
Iterate your models and textures based on feedback
Create models in time and quality

Requirements:

5+ years of work experience as a Character Artist
Experience designing slick, detailed, modern, forward looking characters
Strong understanding of human anatomy
Strong understanding of color theory and how color affects mood & focal points
Proficiency in industrystandard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, or similar tools for character modeling and texturing.
Passion for video games and a deep understanding of character design and its impact on gameplay and player engagement.
Familiarity with rigging and animation principles is a plus.
Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
A proactive and selfmotivated approach to problemsolving and the ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Experience in working with task tracking tools
Ability to iterate your work based on feedback
