Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science,
Institute of History, the

**Chair (W3) of Early Modern History

is to be filled as of April 1, 2024**.

You (M/F/x) will represent the above-mentioned discipline and its national and international
connections to research and teaching with the greatest possible systematic breadth. In teaching, you
will be responsible for lectures in German and English in the degree programs that have history as a
interdisciplinary research networks of TUD and to collaborate with DRESDEN-concept partners as well
as with other cooperation partners.

We expect you to have a proven research profile with a primary focus on German history and a
secondary focus on European, non-European, or global history, or on another innovative topic. This
can be demonstrated by internationally visible publications and a reputable academic network. In
addition, you should have an active interest in current historical, cultural, and/or social science
theories and issues, as well as an open-mindedness toward the Digital Humanities. We expect
experience in the acquisition of third-party funds as well as your willingness to participate in academic
self-administration. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements - 58 of the Act
on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
