Overview


Blue Yonder is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Counsel - Privacy and Contracts (Syndikusrechtsanwalt) who is enthusiastic about technology and working with a global SaaS growth company.


This DACH-focussed role will be part of Blue Yonder's dynamic global Legal and Privacy Team, focussing on EMEA both in Privacy and in Commercial Contracts by supporting the German speaking and wider EMEA sales teams, handling revenue transaction agreement negotiations.

This role will be cross-functional and business units-overlapping, instrumental in the day-to-day routine work.

You will partner with our Sales, Support, Finance, Product Development and Security teams to close opportunities and help the company scale its SaaS operations.

You will be part of a well-respected, collaborative legal team that works across all functions and levels in the company.


This role would suit an agile, inquisitive, positive, open-minded and out-of-the box thinker with great communication skills, who has the right level of enthusiasm when it comes to attention to detail.

You must be keen to develop yourself further, not at least by continuously learning in the Privacy area. You must be willing to embrace and champion change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Qualifications:

Language Skills

Native German language proficiency and fluent proficiency in English are essential. Additional language skills desirable but not required.


Responsibilities:


  • Review, draft and negotiate revenue related agreements, including customer and partnerfacing SaaS, software license
- and professional services related agreements.
  • Assist in improving and standardising Blue Yonder's internal templates and processes.
  • Understand company business and operational requirements and translate those requirements into agreements.
  • Engage with customers to solve complex problems in support of commercial objectives while focusing on Blue Yonder's business goals and protecting the company.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to internal clients in a fastpaced growth environment.
  • Work with the Legal, Sales, Support and Finance teams to ensure negotiations result in optimal terms and close customer transactions.
  • Assist with the creation, updating and maintaining of agreement templates, playbooks and empowerment materials.
  • Provide practical legal advice and commercial counsel on various data protection issues, including compliance with the GDPR and privacy laws of other jurisdictions where Blue Yonder is doing business, to teams including Product Development, Marketing, Finance and Associate Success (some experience working on Employment matters, including Works Councils, would be advantageous).
  • Be an additional contact for the global Legal Team as a first level of support for specific Privacyrelated questions.
  • Support Blue Yonder's Privacy by Design strategy in respect of new products and solutions.
  • Support the further development of Blue Yonder's Global Privacy Program, updating existing legal documents, policies, contract templates and in the creation of new documents, policies and contract templates based on new legal requirements in the respective geo under the guidance of the Global Privacy Lead.
  • Support Blue Yonder's Data Governance program to maintain its records of processing activities and assist in conducting data protection impact assessments.
  • Build and maintain trainings both for Blue Yonder associates and also act as an interface to the Compliance organization.
  • Build and continuously maintain knowledge in new areas you may not yet be familiar with like for example Generative Artificial Intelligence/ LLM and any other relevant industryrelated issues.
  • Perform other responsibilities and special projects in support of the EMEA and global Legal team's goals and initiatives.

What we are looking for:

  • A fully qualified Corporate Counsel under German law with successfully finished first and second judicial state examination, ideally admitted to the bar as a "Syndikusrechtswalt". 3+ years as a practicing transactional attorney (including at a law firm and / or inhouse corporate legal experience).
  • SaaS, cloud computing, enterprise software and Privacy experience.
  • Ability to understand legal, risk and business impacts to agreement language and deal velocity.
  • Ability to make recommendations confidently to Blue Yonder's business teams and leaders on agreement negotiations.
  • Ability to "translate" complex legal requirements into "layman terms".
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide customer centric and solutionsoriented approach while protecting the best interests of the company.
  • Excellent research, writing, analytical, negotiation, communication and presentation skills, both in German and English.
  • Thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic and collaborative environment.
