About Marketing & Business Development (MBD)

MBD is a dynamic global team which includes business development specialists, research analysts, brand, marketing and communications experts.

By working collaboratively, our team shapes the firm's client strategy, completes analysis of complex business issues, targets opportunities, develops compelling proposals and creates content and marketing campaigns that lead our digital presence.

Together, we define the client experience and shape the perception of Freshfields around the globe.


Key duties include:


  • To perform administrative duties required to support the Global Events manager for CE
  • Assisting manager with budget tracking using the firm's finance technologies, processing invoices for payment and managing personal expense reimbursements
  • Manage all regional events calendar entries
  • Manage different forms of data entry, filing and document preparation, including regular and accurate data entry and the production of excel reports
  • To assist manager with production of materials such as handouts and badges, plus any other ad hoc requirements
  • To support with event onsite registration including name badge preparation
  • Manage post webinar tasks, including downloading reports and recordings
  • Filing and archiving of data and files
  • Monitoring and management of events stationery, merchandise stock, banners, name badge printers and any other materials
  • Occasional venue sourcing for smaller dinners and events

Key responsibilities and deliverables

  • Builds trusted relationships with other members of the global MBD team, fee earners and the global assistant community.
  • Reports to the Global Events Manager on a regular basis regarding projects, progress made, issues and solutions.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of processes and working practices.
  • Promotes and is an advocate for the adoption of global events processes and technologies in line with best practice.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional standard of delivery and service across all events within remit

Key requirements

  • Bilingual in German and English
  • Educated to degree level
  • Confident and selfmotivated
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate confidently across the firm, including with clients and partners
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook
  • Good organisational skills and ability to selfmanage
  • Strong analytical skills and highly numerate
