What are we looking for


We're looking for a Category Leader to join us at our new location in Germany - Linden Area, North of Frankfurt.


The Category Leader role has full responsibility for managing all aspects of a major segment of the ITM supply chain and will be accountable for category strategy execution and enacting the end-to-end procurement cycle as per the departmental policies.

You will create and deploy the integrated commodity / category strategies and the associated strategic sourcing and commercial activities.

This covers ensuring adequate levels of contractual coverage and mitigation of commercial risk, optimising commercial advantage, providing security of supply and acceptable levels of liability.

Where designated, you will lead the strategic relationships at a senior level creating value and competitive advantage.


Responsibilities

  • Strategy develop, deploy and communicate relevant integrated commodity /category / supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the designated supply chain(s).
  • Strategic Sourcing planning, leading and negotiating sourcing and commercial activities to maximise the value proposition across all major commodities / categories.
  • Where designated, select a supply chain capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements and ensure quality management and rectification.
  • Lead long term cost improvement in line with business plans, including leveraging cost reductions across category group strategic spend commodities / categories.
  • Effective top to top management of Supplier Relationships and strategic direction of partners and suppliers, ensuring that suppliers receive timely feedback of their performance as part of the supplier performance management (QCDR) reviews.
  • Support escalated issues on designated suppliers.
  • Ensure that all PO's are released in accordance with the Purchase Order and Demand Policy in a timely manner and in line with the overall project timing plan.
  • Ensure compliance to the company's policies, processes and procedures.
  • Understand supplier obligations contained in our Global Supplier Code of Conduct and address any compliance concerns.
  • Identify all supplier risk areas and ensure each supplier complies with all necessary ITM Power policies and conduct periodic reassessments; conformance to ITM Power SQRD, conflict minerals statements, Supplier Code of Conduct and ESG requirements.
  • Supporting the day to day procurement needs of the GmbH entity with local level requirements to ensure their support service obligations to the wider business can be delivered.

About You

Knowledge and Experience

  • Degreeeducated (or equivalent), with an Engineering or Business background.
  • MCIPS or IoSCM certified.
  • Qualifications necessary in areas such as Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Contract Management, Operations Management, Logistics.
  • Proven experience as category leadership, or similar role, with strong knowledge of category management and procurement best practices.
  • High level of commercial acumen and knowledgeable in contract law and developing complex supply agreements.
  • Strong and effective decisionmaking capacity, with the ability to interpret complex and multiple sources of information to make decisions.
  • Proven ability to improve processes to eliminate nonvalue adding activities.
