Position overview
MSCI ESG Research, part of MSCI Inc, is seeking an intern to assist with growing Regulatory Solutions Research needs.

The intern is expected to support existing regulatory solutions, specifically EU Sustainable Finance (SFDR, Taxonomy, etc.), including mapping and assessing client needs for emerging sustainability regulation, globally.

The intern is also expected to partake and drive the development of new analytical approaches to building models for estimating sustainable finance data in close alignment with regulatory frameworks, as well as developing reporting solutions.


Your key responsibilities

  • You will work closely with all parts of the MSCI organization, including Client Sales & Service, Marketing, Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Product Management. The role also allows to gain exposure to other business areas of MSCI (analytics, real estate and index).
Collaborating with other members of the ESG Research team, you will assist with:

- ensuring analytical rigor and close alignment with the regulatory framework of MSCI Regulatory Solutions, including SFDR, Taxonomy, EBA Pillar 3, MiFID II etc.;
- mapping gaps to MSCI regulatory solutions and working closely with our global analyst team to develop sound methodologies, and test inputs and outputs of model frameworks.
- conducting and publishing research on regulatory development and market trends, and developing use cases and practical guides to facilitate implementation;


Specific knowledge and skills

  • Familiarity with emerging sustainable finance frameworks
  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets;
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills to clearly articulate ideas and facilitate strong relations with a global team of industry research analysts, technology and operations teams.
  • Understanding of mechanics of ESG analysis and ESG data collection, analysis desired
  • Selfmotivated, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fastpaced environment;
  • Ambitious, with a desire to bring ESG into the mainstream investment process;

Desired experience

  • 1 year of relevant professional experience in ESG research industry, or analyst roles within investment firms, consulting, corporates, public institutions, or NGOs desired

Desired qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Masters Degree or close to completion of Bachelor
