Duties:

The Consular Assistant and Switchboard Operator provides citizenship and special consular services for U.S. citizens in Post's consular district and provides switchboard services for the US Embassy in Moscow. Switchboard services will be covered for the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and for the constituent posts of U.S. Mission Russia between the hours of 0800 and 1700 Moscow Standard Time Monday through Friday except for published U.S. Mission Moscow and U.S. Federal holidays. S/he serves as one of the primary points of contact for U.S.

citizens in the consular district and maintains a network of public and private sector contacts who may be able to assist U.S.

citizens. Communicates directly with citizenship applicants and U.S. citizens in distress and assists in the preparation of emergency messaging and website updates. Works with the American Citizen Services (ACS) Chief, consular officers and other Post staff on crisis preparedness and response. Performs administrative duties and supports other consular section units as required. This position is supervised by the Russia Support Unit (RSU) Information Systems Officer (ISO).
