About the Inceptive Apprenticeship


Through the Inceptive Apprenticeship, we are looking to recruit and advance the next generation of researchers that can both contribute to Inceptive and grow the broader tech bio/science community.

We believe in hands-on education.

As an Apprentice at Inceptive, you will develop your scientific acumen and kick-start your career as a fully integrated part of a cutting-edge collaborative R&D team.

Who you are:


  • If you don't recognize yourself here, see our other _post_ for those with a background in Biology or similar._
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics) by summer 202
  • Familiarity with software development, data science, machine learning, statistical modeling and/or bio/physics/chemistry modeling

What the program looks like:


  • 1year fulltime research experience with oneonone mentorship and handson training, both outside and inside of the wet lab, starting in August 202 The first few weeks of the program involve coding and wet lab orientations that will take you through a shortterm project before you are assigned a longerterm project and mentor based on your individual interests
  • Opportunity to hone research skills while working on problems that have the opportunity to make a direct impact on RNA therapeutics and human health
  • Career development opportunities including journal clubs, conferences, fireside chats, quarterly international company retreats, and networking opportunities with industry professionals (including founders, scientists, engineers, operations experts, entrepreneurs)

How you might spend your days:

  • Designing, planning, and executing experiments across machine learning and biology, both independently and in collaboration with teammates
  • Exploring modeling of RNA biology and therapeutics by combining deep learning and highthroughput assays, nextgeneration sequencing, lab automation, etc.
  • Analyzing and presenting data to colleagues across all roles and levels
  • Learning from members of a humble, dynamic, and highly communicative team
  • Working on real world problems at the cutting edge of biology and machine learning with the potential to directly positively impact the world
