Duties:


  • Work independently as a licensed clinical social worker uses advanced concepts, principles, procedures, practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of family advocacy patients using psychosocial instruments to form diagnosis.
  • Obtain relevant data from legal, investigatory, medical, command, social service agencies, schools, resource programs, etc.
  • Interview offenders regarding allegations of abuse or neglect in order to establish them with treatment resources.
  • Develop treatment plans based on identified problems, psychosocial factors and treatment capabilities.
  • Perform crisis intervention services to assist in the protection of family advocacy victims.
  • Prepare related records and documents for inclusion in the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) record.
  • Prepare written diagnoses to document patient assessments and/or treatments.

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic reverification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements in accordance with Army Regulation 406
  • This position may require you to be oncall, responding to emergency calls at times beyond the normal duty day.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a valid unexpired passport.
  • This position requires a valid, stateissued and USAREUR Drivers License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Commands structure.
  • PUBLIC LAW , SECTION 231,AND PUBLIC LAW , SECTION 1094, REQUIRES THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK TO SERVICE IN THIS POSITION. THIS REQUIREMENT IS ALSO IN DODI AND AR
  • INCUMBENT IS SUBJECT TO CENTRAL REGISTRY CHECK (DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE CHILD AND DOMESTIC ABUSE REPORTING SYSTEM).
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.

Degree:

Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.


  • In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes in a family advocacy environment: 1) Interview offenders regarding allegations of abuse or neglect in order to establish them with treatment resources; 2) Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of family advocacy patients in psycho-social instruments to form diagnosis; 3) Work independently as a licensed clinical social worker uses advanced concepts, principles, procedures, and/or prepare written diagnoses to document patient assessments and/or treatments; and, 4) experience in the field of domestic violence and/or child abuse/neglect.

  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS11)

Licensure:

This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently offered by a U.S.

State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
