    DESCRIPTION

  • For demanding customers who are new entrants into the German mobile telecommunications market, many data centers are being built by partner companies scattered geographically within Germany to support the 5G network traffic following the ORAN design.
  • To support the Project Team, a group of Internal Senior Field Engineers are needed to work with the partners and vendor engineers during the final steps of the data center commissioning process.

JOB DESCRIPTION- Supervising external 3rd parties during the physical racking/stacking of hardware components such as servers (Dell, Supermicro) and switches (Cisco) in data centers with hot & cold aisle principles including 48V power installations, fiber and copper cabling and rack cable management and labeling according to installation guidelines.- Plan, supervise, execute the installation of the data center.- Independent site survey of the appropriate site(s) with corresponding documentation.- Responsible for the building as planned as well as ensuring the compliance with the standards of the corresponding sites.- Troubleshoots on hardware site compute and network related issues and take appropriate actions.- Prevention of system incidents via the execution of pre-defined inspection scripts to interrogate the health of the server operating system, database performance, and evaluation against standard performance levels.

  • Execution of defined troubleshooting techniques to analyze system incident symptoms and define the resulting client/associate impact.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Demonstrable experience with German Standard according to VDE with preferably a certification of electrical technician/engineer or certified data center technician, certified network cable technician.- Very good experience in fiber incl. ODF, copper cable installations, racking and stacking in hot/cold aisles, cable management, rack and device cooling techniques, phase balancing equipment of each rack.- At least 3 years of work experience setting up and fault finding in data center equipment and OEM suppliers ideally with Cisco, Dell and Supermicro.- Attention to detail, consistency, and ability to train new colleagues to support.- Good experience in reading and updating patching diagrams while doing the debugging towards the final handover to the operations team in the GNOC.- Excellent working knowledge of networks and server infrastructure.- Good experience in documentation of installed assets.- Car driving license and own car.

  • Willingness to travel regularly between locations in the respective region.
