Your tasks- Optical design of novel beam shaping elements for materials processing using ultrashort pulsed lasers- Design of efficient and high-power resistant diffractive optics and digital holograms- Laser beam characterization of shaped focus distribution- Testing and characterization of optical components- Development of control loops based on adaptive optical components- Optimization of optical designs based in in-situ diagnostics of light-matter interaction

What we are looking for- Background in physics, engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field of study- First experience in Laser physics and optical design are welcome- Lab experience with handling of optical components useful- Programming experience in Python, C#, MATLAB or similar useful- Experience with optical design tools like Zemax, VirtualLab, Code V or similar useful- Excellent knowledge of MS Office- Very good language skills in English or German- Analytical and conceptual skills, structured and independent way of working
