Join our dynamic team as Editor-in-chief and Head of Editorial Steering in the Communications and Public Policy (CP) department.

In this pivotal role, you will build up and lead an editorial steering team, driving the execution of our communication strategies.

Your responsibilities include establishing and optimizing editorial planning, project staffing, and communications controlling processes across CP and regions.

You'll play a key role in evaluating and approving incoming communication requests and proposals while ensuring strategic alignment and target setting for all editorial activities.

As the Managing Editor, you will harmonize, oversee and ultimately decide daily editorial operations, collaborating with various teams within CP.


In your new role you will:

  • Build up and
    lead an editorial steering team within Communications and Public Policy (CP)
  • Be responsible for setting up and continuously improving editorial planning, project staffing, and communications controlling routines across all CP teams and regions.

Monitor ,
evaluate , and ultimately
approve incoming communication requests from business stakeholders as well as communications proposals from within CP

  • Be responsible that
    topics and projects are properly staffed to ensure impactful communications towards all relevant target groups on all relevant channels
  • Advise and monitor topic owners
- in order to
ensure a consistent
strategic alignment ,
target setting and
outcome evaluation for all editorial activities

  • Manage and oversee
    daily alignment of all publishing activities across CP , acting as the Managing Editor and coordinating between members of all relevant teams within CP
  • Be the
    business owner , responsible for the continuous rollout, establishing, and maintaining routines on an editorial planning tool
You absorb information quickly, evaluate it from different angles and make new connections. You communicate in a sympathetic manner, are convincing and get to the heart of complex issues. Your decisions demonstrate a profound understanding of strategic priorities and business relevance. As a result, you succeed in establishing trusting and constructive cooperation with your stakeholders.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A degree in
    communications or journalism or related fields
  • A minimum of
    6 years of relevant work experience, **preferably in a corporate or publishing house's newsroom, including leadership experience
  • Excellent
    editorial skills:

Profound understanding
and up-to-date overview of current political and economic events**:


  • A self-confident attitude
    and confident interaction with global stakeholders
    are required:

Strong strategic, management, communication and leadership as well as analytic skills**:


  • High level of empathy to quickly understand complex situations and to mediate between conflicting interests of the professional audience**:

Excellent language skills in English
and German
