Your role:

State-of-the-art laboratory is searching for a curious and well-organized intern to join their international team.

During your internship, you will learn how to characterize and identify foreign particles (impurities) as small as 1 μm with high-end microspectroscopy tools (for comparison: the diameter of a human hair is approximately 80 μm).

Your results will have high impact on the RCA processes of troubleshooting projects (RCA = Root Cause Analysis).

Your training will involve sample preparation and operation of various optical, Raman, infrared, and electron microscopes.

Once trained on the instruments, you could learn and support latest R&D topics from all business sectors by chemical imaging or surface analysis of R&D samples.

In addition, you will learn how other analytical techniques help to accomplish specific analytical tasks.

Those techniques are available in our company or at external partners, like coupled chromatographic techniques, NMR, elemental analysis techniques, etc.


Who you are:


  • You are currently studying chemistry, physics, or analytical sciences, and are in the second half of your studies.
  • You show initiative, and very good organizational and communication skills
  • A broad basic knowledge of instrumental analytical methods and computer skills are required
  • Excellent spoken and written English and/or German is imperative

  • 12 months
