  • part
  • time (50 %)

  • Your tasks:
  • Implementation of an independent research project in the field of Egyptological 'Social Archaeology', ideally with reference to Thebes/Upper Egypt as well as presentation of own research results at conferences and workshops
  • 2 SWS teaching load per semester
  • Supervision of homework and examination activities
  • Support for projects and events of the department Egyptology, the IAW and participation in the coordination of the German House Qurna/Thebes in cooperation with the German Archaeological Institute, Cairo Department (DAIK)

Your profile:


  • In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in 57 of the _Hochschulgesetz_ of Rhineland-Palatinate.
  • A successfully completed scientific university degree
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to the IAW's interdisciplinary research and teaching program in a committed, selfresponsible and teamoriented manner
  • Desirable:
  • Professional focus in teaching and research in the area of 'Social Archaeology'
  • Willingness to participate in projects of the work area in the Thebes area (including stays on site)
- skills in the field of digital humanities

The position is paid according to
EG 13 TV-L and to be filled on 09/01/2024 for a fixed term of four years.

There is perhaps the possible option of an extension in accordance with the WissZeitVG.The position serves the purpose of academic qualification (habilitation).-We aim to increase the number of women in the field of research and teaching and therefore encourage female researchers to apply.
