Physical Security Enablement Coordinator (m/w/d)


Job Profile Summary:

Equinix is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Physical Security Enablement Developer. This is a unique opportunity to work in a world-class organization that values collaboration, innovation, and growth.


Some tasks include the following:
performs repairs, maintenance, and installations of security system infrastructure. Collaborates with others to resolve security incidents.


Responsibilities:


Work Orders

  • Completes routine work requests for security installations/deinstallations and customer installs with support from more senior team members.
  • Applies acquired job skills to troubleshoot and maintain basic office security equipment and, supporting auxiliary equipment and machines with problem solving and minor repairs to avoid/minimize downtime.
  • Supports nonroutine work requests such as security custom orders that are both internal and external requests, which may also require vendor coordination.
  • Provides assistance with tracking of customer security ticketing orders including reporting requirements as well as audit requests.

Incident Management

  • Provides assistance to more senior staff in responding to onsite incidents and acts as directed
  • Supports response to onsite security incidents and events, including major failures, significant problems and delays, and acts as required.
  • Able to follow through on the Security Incident Management Decision matrix and support senior team members and/or crossfunctional teams as requested.

Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Follows established procedures to perform routine preventative maintenance on security infrastructure according to the to the program defined in the asset management system. Maintenance includes Security/Operating system (OS) patching and updates.
  • Develops knowledge to operate critical security infrastructure under the supervision of more senior technical staff.
  • Receives instructions on new assignments such as operating and maintaining Access Controls System (ACS), Video Monitoring System (VMS), Key systems, as well as all ancillary parts of these systems with support.
  • Supports maintenance of asset inventory for all Security IP Address management.
  • Spare parts management.

Collaboration

  • Assists the department during routine maintenance activities.
  • Informs stakeholders of inventory needs to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
  • Provides assistance with team coordination of security installations that may impact facility infrastructure.
  • Supports senior team members with Regional Security Support team (i.e. AMER, EMEA, APAC) as well as Global Security Support teams when needed to test, implement and validate system upgrades, recommendations, procedure/policy updates, etc.

Requirements:


  • Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and adhere to security processes.
  • Good communication in German and English is a must.
  • Willingness to travel to Munich, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg as necessary, with the main place of work being Frankfurt.
  • Knowledge of security infrastructure, such as Access Controls Systems and Video Monitoring Systems,
    is a plus.
