Health Economist for IEG Principal Outcomes Data Expert (M/F/d)
Integrated Evidence Generation (IEG) has shown real impact on value-creation at scale across the pharma value chain.

Bayer has made IEG a priority by exerting greater emphasis on real-world data (RWD)/real-world evidence (RWE) and has adapted its operating model to ensure integration across functions, geographies, methods/data types, most critically across the life cycle.

The mandate of the IEG group is to maximize value creation opportunities through integrated evidence generation.

Within this group, the IEG Therapy Areas (TA) are primarily responsible for shaping and integrating the execution of evidence generation plans across the entire life cycle for all therapeutic areas.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a member (M/F/d) of the Evidence Generation core team, ensure that the Market Access (HTA and payer) perspective is integrated in the IEG strategy and plan tactics of the brand(s)
  • Lead HEOR and Real-World evidence research to fulfill HTA / payer requirements
  • Provide Market Access perspectives, expertise and recommendations in identification and design of observational studies and risk management initiatives and communicating these needs effectively to project and product team members
  • Identify synergy potential across functional needs and optimize incorporation of Market Access needs into emerging research investments
  • Guide the definition of research questions addressing business challenges in partnership with IEG leads and IEG TA heads of respective TA from a Market Access perspective
  • In collaboration with other IEG functions, identify and assess external data sources (health care databases, patient registries, others) for their utility in addressing scientific questions in observational research
  • Consult external HTA & payer experts on acceptable RWE approaches supporting P&R decisions
  • Promote Payer Research Collaborations to better understand expectations and perceptions on new compounds and disease areas and to jointly advance disease areas with mutual insights
  • Ensure that potential RWE initiatives meet HTA and payer requirements

WHO YOU ARE

  • Master Degree or higher (MSc, PhD, DRPH, ScD) in health economics, health services research, public health, or epidemiology, preferably combined with a degree in a clinical discipline (medicine, pharmacy, nursing)
  • Longterm experience in HEOR and specifically with Real World studies / observational studies / epidemiology, with several years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and or respective consultancies. A fraction of that experience coming from global roles and/or highlevel HTA countries (e.g. US, UK, Canada, Australia / Scandinavia) is advantageous
  • Hands on experience in designing and conducting prospective and retrospective observational studies, conducting health economics, health related quality of life and/or health services research studies for a pharmaceutical company
  • In depth knowledge of global health care systems and in particular Health technology assessment and payer organizations in major markets
  • Excellent judgment in conflict management, negotiation and influence, excellent process and project management skills required; as well as crossfunctional team leadership
